I keep failing God. Does he give up on me?

But let me speak plainly about the One you fear you are failing. The God whom Jesus revealed is not a distant judge tallying your stumbles. He is Love itself, and Love does not give up (1 John 4:16, KJV: "God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."). Hear how Jesus described the Father: a shepherd who leaves theninety and nine to seek the one who wandered, "until he find it" (Luke 15:4, KJV). Not "if" he finds it. Until. I would gently challenge the very frame of your question. You speak of "failing God" as though God stands over you, disappointed. But you are His own image and likeness, "made in the image of God" (Genesis 1:27, KJV), and a reflection cannot fail its source any more than a wave can fail the ocean. What you call failure is often only forgetting for a moment who you truly are. Jesus said, "Neither do I condemn thee" (John 8:11, KJV), and if he does not condemn, who is left to? The Gospel of Truth speaks of us not as sinners to be punished but as those who were lost in ignorance, "as if they were sunk in sleep" (Gospel of Truth 29.1-10), waiting only to awaken. Your task is not to earn a love you already have, but to wake up to it. So no, He does not give up on you. He cannot, for He is not separate from you (Gospel of Thomas 70.1-2: "That which you have will save you if you bring it forth from yourselves.").
